An Australian parliamentary vote on whether to legalise same-sex marriage is imminent after MPs reached the final stages of debate on a historic bill.
The House of Representatives is widely expected to pass the legislation on Thursday, after the bill drew broad cross-party support.
The Senate voted decisively in favour of the legislation last week.
Many same-sex marriage supporters have travelled to Canberra to witness the outcome in the lower house.
Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull's government introduced the bill after Australians overwhelmingly voted in support of same-sex marriage in a national vote.
More than 100 MPs have spoken on the legislation since it was tabled in the House of Representatives.
